We've had a lazy start to the year and haven't been birding much, when we have been out it's been fairly quiet but the year is still young and hope to have plenty of interesting opportunities (we'll see).
Anyway .........January saw the long staying Eastern Black Redstart still in residence at Skinningrove, cracking bird. A Glaucous Gull has been hanging around Hartlepool fish quay for quite a while. Brambling have been in several locations Sutton bank visitors centre had a single on Sunday and a unexpected Tawny Owl showed well briefly on the moors near Hawnby.
