Saw my first ever Quail today on my way into work - right outside my works entrance! Sylvia came across several young Swallows on her travels today and grabbed a quick photo. This evening we went to Sheep Wash and located a family of Whinchat and Stonechat
nice , were they outside the clocking hall ?? -- paul
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the swallows. Love the first one! Well Done!
ReplyDeleteHi Paul, yes it was in the scrub land opposite the clocking hall
ReplyDeleteHi Jack (Whitley Birder), many thanks for the comments.
ReplyDeleteIs Sheepwash near Codbeck reservoir?
ReplyDeleteHi James, Yes Sheep Wash is the area to the East of CodBeck resevoir, have had quite a few good sightings in this area, including Hen Harrier, Common Buzzard, Cuckoo, Tawny Owl, Whinchat as well as some of the more common birds. It also seems to be a migration route for Warblers etc, last September there were dozens of birds moving through this area on their way back.
