We can't believe it has been so long since we posted anything on our blog.
A few pictures from our recent holiday to Mull at the end of May.

The list grows slowly

Picked up some birds for our year list today when we were out and about. A pair of Goosander were on the River Leven at Hutton Rudby but distant. Further up the road at Sexhow we came across a good flock of Tree Sparrow, Chaffinch, Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting and Brambling.

We came across 15 Whooper Swan near Lakeside Café near Scorton later in the day. A nice day although the weather was a bit overcast and chilly.

New Start

We've decided to start keeping the blog again to use it as a diary of what we have see this year.
The 100 bird species this year was a Black Grouse seen on the Northern North York Moors, we also managed to see a Merlin and Woodcock in the same area.
The year started with some good sightings which included the Teesmouth Hen Harrier, the Sleddale Rough-legged Buzzard, Waxwings at Billingham, Long-eared Owl at Saltholme to name but a few.

The Slavonian Grebe at Skinningrove was showing well on New Years Day at the start of our 2019 Bird list
