October in Scotland

Been to Mull yet again.  Need to move there we think.
WhiteTailed Eagles showing well close to Corran Ferry on the way there and on the way back.
Always easy to see Slavs near there too.
So many Eagles around, become common place really.
So love Hoodies.

Plenty of Dippers too.
And Hen Harriers, three in the sky at this location.
Two at this field also.
Always one flying the airstrip in front of the cottage each morning.  That was before the Sea Eagles made an appearance each day too.
Plenty of Whoopers.

This was the highlight of our holiday, looking out of the window to watch the pair of Sea Eagles attacking a Greylag on the sea.  Taking it in turns to bombard the poor thing and at one point it was lifted off the water to be soon dropped again.

Yet another sat on the beach next to a hoodie although very distant.
Three young otters at one location.

This dog otter near Pennygael.
So cute the Fallow Deer at Knock.

Rock Pipit.

More Buzzards

Brent Geese at Killechronan
Got to put on a Red Deer.
Boat of Garten - Crested Tits.
Called in on the way home.

 Love this little 'punk' rocker.

Our latest Mull Visit.

The weather this visit, last week, was not as good as it should have been.  So much so we struggled to see any butterflies at all.  Only one small tortoiseshell, one small heath, one speckled wood and a couple of meadow brown, no scotch argus.

Black Guillemots near the Corran Ferry en route.

One of many Herons.
 Sandmartin.
 Family of three otters.
One of a large group of Twite.
 Love Hooded Crows.
Quite a lot of Spotted Flycatchers around.
Not so many Buzzards.
Unexpected view as we sat looking over the Sound of Mull.
Flying around the nest site.
Local Killechronan landing on the shingle.
On the road to Iona from the car.
Being chased by a Buzzard.
Now some of the many birds feeding at the edge of the garden most days.
 Lesser Redpoll
 Willow Warbler
 Siskin
One of 6 Song Thrush all together in the garden one morning.
 Meadow Pipit
Whitethroat
Peregrine chasing Lapwings at Loch Ba.

 Meadow Brown at Loch Ba
Taking a mud bath at Loch Ba
Young Common Gulls near campsite at Craignure.
 Some views from Iona.

A Red Kite en route home.
